Operation Neptune is a WW2 re–enacment event dedicated to the largest military invasion of the 20th Century, the D-Day Landings of June 6th, 1944. By using a combination of simulated battles, static displays of military vehicles and equipment; period military camps and numerous other scenarios, the event will offer a fantastic oppurtunity for local residents and visitors to the area to learn more about the history of the invasion. The event is free to attend for spectators and re–enactors.

The event is scheduled to take place over the weekend of the 25th & 26th September, 2010. Re–enactment groups and other exhibitors are welcome to arrive on Friday 24th Stepmber in order to prepare their displays and camps. Displays are allocated on large flat–standing grassed areas, allowing for a wide range of scenarios and sizes. The event also comprises a large area of sand dunes, which will be made available to groups for camping and display areas if desired. The camping / display locations will be kept to strictly authentic tentage and camping equipment. Strictly no civillian or modern–day tentage, caravans or motorhomes will be permitted to enter the display area.

In order to attend as a re–enactment group, and be allocated with a display area, you must first ensure that you have booked in with the organiser. For more information about booking in, please visit the Forms page.

Now in its third year, the event has received praise from both re–enactors and spectators alike at the previous events. Following on from these earlier successes, East Lindsey District Council and Skegness Town Council were keen for the event to be repeated in 2010, and for this year's event to be even bigger and better than before!
